Lead for Global Telecoms Contracts and Vendor Management and Elected Secretary of The World Bank - IMF African Society
Judith is lead for Global Telecoms Contracts and vendor Management, and was recently elected as the Secretary of the World Bank/IMF African Society. She is responsible for strategic sourcing, delivery and management of all the telecoms links connecting all World Bank Offices worldwide ensuring value for money and excellent service delivery. Her remit includes budget and financial oversight.
Judith graduated with a B. Eng Hon in Civil Engineering from Enugu State University in Nigeria and obtained a MSc in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield in the UK.
With the boom of the telecoms industry in the UK in the mid-nineties, she was quickly snapped up by one of the many telecoms operators. She started as an engineer, learning on the job and quickly moved into analyst and management roles. She helped design national and international interconnects, traffic management and voice messaging systems as well as driving strategies for cost efficiencies.
With the increase in business, financial and management responsibilities she decided to do an MBA at London Business School. Following on from that she gradually moved into more senior business and financial roles focusing on sourcing, procurement, business planning, vendor and contracts management. She has led multimillion savings projects and keeps looking for efficiencies without compromising quality of service.
Her career has spanned engineering and management roles in various companies such as NYNEX, WorldCom, NTL, Telefonica O2, Thomson Financial and Thomson Reuters.
She is a true believer in maximizing your potential and encouraging flexibility in your skills set to enable career growth and progression. She is also very active in her community helping open avenues for career opportunities, mentoring/coaching, philanthropic activities and was recently one of the strong campaigners of Bring Back Our Internet in Cameroon.
